Additional details

This recall involves KÜHL Q and KÜHL S Window Air Conditioners. The products have a gray front and a black air discharge grille and have the name Friedrich and the Friedrich logo in the lower left corner of the unit. The Kühl Q front control panel is located on the top left corner of the unit, and the Kühl S front control panel is located on the right side of the unit below the discharge grille. The models are KCVQ08B10A, KHVQ10B11A, KCVS08B10A, KCVS12B10A, KCVS12B30A and KCVS16B30A. The model and serial number are located inside the air conditioners. Only some serial numbers below have motors that are included in this recall.

Recommended action

Consumers should stop using the recalled air conditioners immediately and visit www.friedrich.com/product-recall to receive information on how to determine if their unit is covered by the recall. Consumers should have the air conditioner’s serial number, which can be found on the inside of the unit, when they visit the recall web page or call Friedrich about the recall. If your unit has a serial number that is included in the recall, the firm will send you instructions on how to obtain a refund or free replacement unit.
